Delhi Spice, the Indian restaurant at 4925 Bethesda Ave., scored a 4.9 on OpenTable's September Diners' Choice "Best Overall" list for the Maryland–DC Suburbs region.

The 4.9 makes Delhi Spice the highest-rated Bethesda restaurant on the list, according to MoCoShow, which first reported the rankings Sunday, Sept. 27. Seven of the ten restaurants on the regional list are in Montgomery County.

OpenTable compiles the Diners' Choice selections each month by analyzing nearly 2 million global reviews from the previous four months, sorted by location and category. The list reflects diner feedback, not editorial picks.

Delhi Spice's OpenTable profile breaks down the scores: 4.9 for food, 4.8 for service, 4.8 for value and 4.3 for ambience. The restaurant held 95 reviews on the platform as of Sept. 28. It also carries Diners' Choice badges for Best Overall, Best Food, Best Service, Best Value, Healthy and Neighborhood Gem in the Maryland–DC Suburbs region, along with Best Food, Best Value and Neighborhood Gem for the Washington, D.C. Area.

Two restaurants on the list scored higher. Il Piccolo Morso in Leonardtown and Muoi Tieu in Takoma Park each posted a 5.0. Il Piccolo Morso had 597 reviews; Muoi Tieu had 61.

The rest of the Montgomery County contingent: Fontina Grille in Rockville (4.8), Mosaic Cuisine in Rockville (4.8), Cuba de Ayer in Burtonsville (4.8), District Bistro in Wheaton (4.7) and Java Nation in North Bethesda (4.8). Manalu Italian Restaurant in Frederick (4.8) and The Tasting Room in Frederick (4.8) round out the top ten.

The casual dining spot draws its name from Khari Baoli, a spice bazaar in Old Delhi. Its menu features street food, curries and tandoori dishes.

The rankings can shift month to month as new reviews come in. Diners can also catch Delhi Spice at the Taste of Bethesda festival, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Woodmont Triangle area, according to Patch. Nearly 50 restaurants are set to participate.
