Suspects broke through the front door of a vape shop on Connecticut Avenue and stole merchandise in a 10-minute burglary early Tuesday, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.

The break-in occurred between 2:40 a.m. and 2:50 a.m. in the 10600 block of Connecticut Avenue in the Bethesda Police District. The MCPD has not indicated whether suspects have been identified or arrested.

The burglary was one of more than a dozen incidents the department highlighted in its Tuesday calls-for-service report, published Wednesday.

Across the county

Several other serious incidents were reported the same day:

Hate/bias incident, Silver Spring: At approximately 9:02 p.m. in the 600 block of Mansfield Road, a group allegedly banged on an apartment door while making anti-LGBTQ+ statements, threatened a resident who confronted them, and damaged two Pride flags. No arrest information was available.

Bus knife assault, Wheaton: At 7:17 p.m. in the 12300 block of Veirs Mill Road, a man allegedly fought with a passenger on a bus and jabbed a knife at the driver who intervened. The driver was not injured.

Loaded handgun arrest, Wheaton: Officers arrested a driver at approximately 1:27 p.m. after finding a loaded handgun during a traffic stop near Georgia Avenue and Hathaway Drive.

Social-media robbery, Germantown: At approximately 1:46 p.m. in the 23900 block of Burdette Forest Road, a teenager who had arranged through social media to sell clothing was knocked to the ground by the buyer, who stole the clothing.

Residential burglaries, Germantown: Two break-ins were reported. At approximately 3:42 a.m. in the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive, two people broke a window to enter a vacant apartment; nothing was reported stolen. Between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the 19500 block of Frederick Road, someone broke a front window and stole property from a home.

Catalytic converter thefts, Silver Spring: Converters were stolen from two vehicles parked on the same block overnight in the 2300 block of Dennis Avenue.
