The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons beat the Northwest Jaguars 14-7 on Thursday, Sept. 17, snapping a seven-game losing streak against Northwest and picking up their second win of the season.

B-CC entered the road game in Germantown ranked No. 9 in The MoCo Show's county top 10. Northwest sat at No. 5.

The MoCo Show's Week 3 preview had predicted a 35-28 Northwest win, citing the Jaguars' home-field advantage. B-CC's defense held Northwest to a single score instead.

The win gave head coach Shwartzback's squad back-to-back victories after a 20-19 Week 1 loss to Churchill. In Week 2 on Sept. 10, the Barons routed Blair 50-36. Senior running back Aiah Mbayo scored three touchdowns in that game on runs of 80, 85 and 40 yards, according to Bethesda Magazine.

After the Sept. 10 Blair win, quarterback Jack Conley told The Tattler: "We had something to prove. People thought we couldn't beat a top team, and we just got rid of that doubt."

Bethesda Magazine's Week 3 preview noted B-CC had not beaten the Jaguars in seven previous meetings. Thursday's result ended that streak.

Two other Bethesda-area teams played Friday, Sept. 18. Walter Johnson traveled to Churchill for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff, and Whitman visited Wootton. B-CC's Week 4 opponent had not been posted to available schedules as of Sept. 18.
