Bethesda-Chevy Chase rolled past Whitman 49-10 on Thursday, Oct. 29, closing the regular season with a lopsided win in the crosstown rivalry.

The result, confirmed as final by The MoCo Show, far exceeded the 28-7 margin the outlet's staff had predicted in its Week 9 preview. The Barons scored 49 points for the second time this season, matching their Sept. 10 output in a 50-36 win over Blair.

The victory lifts B-CC's overall record to 7-2, a calculation based on the team's 6-2 mark entering the game as listed on MaxPreps. The Barons carry a four-game winning streak into the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) playoffs, which begin Nov. 5–7 across the state.

B-CC entered the week ranked fourth in The MoCo Show's county Top 10, compiled by Damon Anderson. Anderson wrote that the Barons had "emerged as a legitimate contender in the 4A North region" and held first place in Class 4A North at 3-1 in region play heading into the finale.

Whitman drops to 5-4 overall, calculated from its 5-3 pre-game record on MaxPreps. The Vikings had entered the week ranked ninth in the county Top 10 and were riding a one-game winning streak after beating Walter Johnson 27-21 on Oct. 23.

The MoCo Show's preview had called the matchup "The Battle of Bethesda" and noted that B-CC had beaten Whitman in each of the last two seasons. Thursday's 39-point margin left no doubt about which team controlled the rivalry in 2026.
