Andy's Pizza, the New York-style chain with a Downtown Bethesda location, won Best Pizza in Washington City Paper's 2026 Best of D.C. readers' poll.

The poll drew 18,375 voters who cast 37,852 votes across 181 categories, according to Washington City Paper. Andy's competed against restaurants throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia.

Owner Andy Brown, a Montgomery County native, runs 14 locations across the region. Three are in Montgomery County: Downtown Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Westfield Montgomery Mall. Andy's is known for thin-crust slices with a slight char inspired by classic New York pizza.

Red Hound Pizza in Takoma Park was the only other Montgomery County restaurant among the Best Pizza finalists, The MoCo Show reported.

The Best of D.C. honor is the second major regional award for Andy's Pizza in 2026. The chain won Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year at the 44th Annual RAMMY Awards, hosted by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) at Arena Stage in Washington. Andy's beat four competitors for that title, including San Pancho in Takoma Park and the Call Your Mother bagel chain, Bethesda Magazine reported.

"I have worked every piece of D.C. I have seen you all after 9:30 Club at 3 in the morning while you yell at me," Brown said during his RAMMY acceptance speech in June. "We are so happy to be here."

Brown also told Bethesda Magazine after the ceremony that he values his Montgomery County roots. He grew up in the county and said he plans to stay.

The Best of D.C. readers' poll is one of the Washington region's largest annual restaurant popularity contests. The RAMMY Awards are considered among the area's top honors for the restaurant industry. Andy's Pizza now holds both titles in the same year.
