Bethesda-Chevy Chase beat Blair 4-3 on Wednesday, Oct. 14, two days after the Barons played Einstein to a 0-0 draw on senior night.

The back-to-back results leave B-CC at 6-6-2 overall, according to MaxPreps. The Barons sit in fifth place in the Class 4A West II region with a 1-4 region record.

The Einstein match on Monday, Oct. 12, went the full 100 minutes, including two overtime periods, without a goal from either side. The game doubled as B-CC's senior night, and coach Guillermo Melendez started an all-senior lineup with goalkeeper Elias Roark the lone exception, The Tattler reported. Each senior walked across the field with family members in a pregame ceremony before the match.

Melendez said the night was about "appreciating the guys because for some of them, it's the last time they're going to play in this atmosphere."

The Tattler reported B-CC's record at 4-4-1 after the Einstein draw. MaxPreps' game-by-game results through the same date produce a different figure. The discrepancy may reflect different methods of counting exhibition or tournament games, but neither source explains the gap.

After the scoreless result against Einstein, Melendez told The Tattler the team needed to possess the ball better and play together to push toward the playoffs. B-CC answered with the four-goal performance against Blair two days later.

Blair, which entered the game at 10-5 overall per MaxPreps, had beaten B-CC 2-0 in the teams' first meeting on Aug. 17.

B-CC hosts Northwood on Monday, Oct. 19, at 7:15 p.m. and welcomes Wheaton on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7:15 p.m.
