Andy's Pizza, the New York-style chain founded by Montgomery County native Andy Brown, won the Best Late Night Eats category in Washington City Paper's 2026 Best of D.C. readers' poll. The Downtown Bethesda location is one of 14 across the D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia region.

The late-night honor is the second Best of D.C. win for Andy's this year. The chain also took Best Pizza in the same poll, MoCo Show reported Sunday, Sept. 13. A total of 18,375 readers voted across 181 categories, casting 37,852 votes, according to Washington City Paper.

Two other Montgomery County spots made the Best Late Night Eats finalist list: Duke's Grocery in Potomac and Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring. They were the only other Maryland restaurants among the finalists. Duke's Grocery opened its first location outside D.C. in Potomac Village in April 2025, at 10128 River Rd.

The recognition caps a streak of honors for Brown's brand. Andy's won Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year at the 44th Annual RAMMY Awards on June 30, beating out four competitors including San Pancho, a Mission-style burrito shop in Takoma Park, and the Call Your Mother bagel chain, Bethesda Magazine reported.

Brown's late-night credentials came through in his RAMMY acceptance speech. "I have worked every piece of D.C. I have seen you all after 9:30 Club at 3 in the morning while you yell at me," Brown told the crowd on June 30. He added that Montgomery County is home. "I love it here. I'm going to stay here because this is where I belong," he told Bethesda Today after the ceremony.

Then came another nod. On Sept. 7, The Washington Post named Andy's pepperoni pizza one of its 40 Essential Dishes of D.C., praising the chain's 72-hour fermented dough and pepperoni that curls into crispy-edged cups, MoCo Show reported.

Brown started the chain in Tysons Corner in 2018. Andy's now operates three Montgomery County locations: Downtown Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Westfield Montgomery Mall.
