Montgomery County police logged two violent crimes in the Bethesda-area 2nd District on Wednesday, Aug. 19: a midday robbery on Rockville Pike and a late-night aggravated assault involving a firearm on Parklawn Place.
Around 3:21 p.m., suspects surrounded a person in the 11500 block of Rockville Pike and took his property, according to the department's daily crime summary. No further details were released.
Hours later, around 10:34 p.m., a suspect allegedly pointed a gun at someone in the 11900 block of Parklawn Place before leaving the area. Police classified the incident as an aggravated assault.
Police have not reported any arrests in either case. The Montgomery County Department of Police shared the summary on its official account on X on Thursday, Aug. 20, describing it as an overview of reported calls for service that does not reflect every call officers handled that day.
The 2nd District covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase and parts of North Bethesda. Countywide on Aug. 19, police documented six auto thefts, two robberies and multiple aggravated assaults across all six districts. The only robbery that day resulting in arrests occurred in Gaithersburg, where two people were taken into custody after suspects displayed a handgun and took property from a person outside a restaurant on North Frederick Avenue.
