The Town of Chevy Chase's vacuum-truck leaf collection program started Monday, Oct. 19, giving residents curbside pickup through mid-December.
Trucks will move continuously through town, street by street, with the goal of reaching each street once per week, according to the town's leaf collection page.
Residents should rake leaves to the edge of the curb. The town asks that leaf piles not include cans, sticks, bottles or rocks.
Once the program ends in mid-December, leaves must be bagged in paper or placed in reusable containers for the town's regular Monday yard trash recycling pickup. Trimmings for that program should be at the curb by 7 a.m.
Residents with questions can call the town office at 301-654-7144 or email [email protected].
