Supporters have donated more than $11,000 to help the family of Inmar Nazareth Campos Rivera, a Bethesda resident who died in a motorcycle crash on his 20th birthday.

Campos Rivera died Aug. 21 after losing control of his motorcycle in the 10700 block of Tucker Street in Beltsville, The MoCo Show reported, citing the Prince George's County Police Department. The crash occurred at about 12:20 a.m. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The cause remains under investigation.

His mother, Jennifer Swann, created a GoFundMe campaign on Aug. 22 to help cover funeral and burial expenses, memorial costs and other immediate needs.

"What should have been a day of celebration for our family became the day we had to say goodbye to our son," Swann wrote on the fundraiser page.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dash camera or home surveillance footage from the area to contact the department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.

As of Wednesday, Sept. 9, the campaign had collected $11,176 from 126 donors toward its $28,000 goal.
